Description or Theme of wedding: No theme – Just FABULOUSNESS!
The most memorable part of your wedding: My aunt who had just arrived to America from Eritrea a few weeks prior to my wedding, was able to get documents together in time to make it to my wedding and surprised me! I had no idea and I was shocked and in tears when I saw her!
What makes your wedding unique: For a lot of our guests, this would be their first time coming to Canada. So Arondae and I, along with the help of my brother Yonas and my cousins in London, planned a pre-wedding party on Friday night, after parties for Saturday and Sunday and a cookout on Monday. Our friends had a great time at all of our events!
What was the most difficult part about planning your wedding: I was planning from Philadelphia but the wedding was in London, Ontario. Also, trying to bring a big habesha wedding together and find vendors in London was challenging. Many of my vendors came from other cities (Canada & US).
What was the easiest part about planning your wedding: PICKING OUT MY DRESS. I PICKED OUT THE FIRST DRESS I TRIED ON AT THE FIRST BOUTIQUE I WENT TO. EASY!
Any advice for the couples planning their wedding right now? : PLAN PLAN PLAN. There is no such thing as planning too early in advance. I heard this a lot from people around me who would constantly ask me "Why are you worried about that now? You have so much time!" Don't listen to these people! Plan & execute as early as possible and save yourself the last minute headaches. It will help reduce the stress and allow you to better enjoy your day!
