Description or Theme of wedding: A modern and classy outdoor wedding with a touch of Ethiopian Culture. The Ethiopian gold cross was the inspiration behind all our décor and invitation cards. We had a lot of candles, soft lighting and an abundance of white flowers.
The most memorable part of your wedding: Having my father walk me down the aisle in church while the choir sang “You & I (Nobody in the World)” by John Legend and seeing my handsome groom waiting for me at the altar.
Did you do anything unique, crazy or fun: Alpha and I are very laid back and fun people. We did not want an extremely traditional wedding and our main focus was on people having a great time dancing, eating & drinking. The craziest thing we did was have Hennessy build us a custom bar together with a Moët Champagne Tower. These bars served Hennessy cocktails named after us all night – we made sure drinks were never scarce.
What was the most difficult part about planning your wedding: Coordinating all the small details and the various vendors we hired for the reception. Even though the Museum was an incredibly beautiful venue; it was not built for large scale events. Transforming that venue was a big task - everything had to be brought in from outside – portable toilets, kitchens, chairs, tables, lights etc. Things were bound to be forgotten! The check lists were never ending.
What was the easiest part about planning your wedding: Choosing my dress. I booked more than 4 appointments at various boutiques. I found my dress 30 minutes into my 1st appointment.
Any words of wisdom to the couple planning their wedding: Don’t argue or fight, don’t get lost in all the details and craziness of wedding planning. Things will not always go according to plan but everything will turn out beautifully nonetheless. It is your day, all that matters is the two of you and that is all that matters. Smile and dance the night away.

Where did you purchase or order your traditional attire: "For the tilet, my husband and I made a big order of the design when we went to Addis Abeba and found a shop Merkato that had someone hand stitch about 50 strips for us. Those strips were then stitched onto the bridesmaids dresses and added to the groom and groomsmens' shirts as collars. Extra fabrics were made into pocket squares."
