Description or Theme of wedding: No specific theme. For 7/16/13, we wanted it very intimate and it was invite only, so the theme I would give that is “Intimate and Scenic.” For 7/21/13, it was all traditional and it was not invite only, so I’d call that “Traditional and Fun.”
The most memorable part of your wedding: The fact that 7/16/13 went exactly as we planned. It was intimate and our family did not have to do anything. They were not open about the idea at the beginning, but after, they could not stop talking about it. That was the best part, and it was a success. The weather was beautiful and the resort was priceless.
What makes your wedding unique: See above. For the 7/16 wedding, it was unique because we did what we wanted. Even though our family was not on board with it, we stuck with it and it turned out to be something so priceless. We did a weekday wedding because the resort was cheaper, and we wanted to enforce the intimate part of our wedding, to avoid uninvited guests. And it worked.
For the 7/21 wedding, the uniqueness was how well we traditionally showcased our culture on that day. My family and friends are great and get the credit for how they made it all turn out to be a beautifully decorated stage.
What was the most difficult part about planning your wedding: The most difficult part I would say about the 7/16 wedding was that we don’t live on the island, so planning and making important decisions was kind of difficult. But we made it work. The vendors on the island were great and used to working with couples who don’t live on the island.
The most difficult part I would say about the 7/21 wedding was the unknown. Since it was open invitation, it was difficult to properly plan the wedding. Our families are used to doing them a certain way because they can predict how many will come to the wedding. That was hard for us to agree with.
What was the easiest part about planning your wedding: The easiest part was some of the plans that our families decided to input and lend a hand on. It was easy for us to delegate because everyone wanted to help, with no complaints.
