The most memorable part of your wedding: First dance with my hubby and dance with my father.

Did you do anything unique, crazy or fun: In addition to having our Eritrean band, we flew in our friend, Dj Moma from NYC and it was one of the best decisions we could've made. The dance floor was rarely empty!

What was the most difficult part about planning your wedding: My mother was really adamant on making the food for the wedding. This made it really hard to find a venue that can accommodate at least 500 people and wasn’t ugly.

What was the easiest part about planning your wedding: Finding my amazing makeup artist!

Any words of wisdom to the couple planning their wedding: I would say if possible, give yourself as much time as possible to plan. We had about 14 months to plan and it was just perfect because it allowed us to take breaks from planning in between months without falling behind.

Be very clear and ask a ton of questions when communicating with your vendors. This will help avoid mistakes or last minute surprises during the wedding.

And finally, there’s a reason everyone tells you to enjoy every moment…it really does go by in an instant. So whenever you can, stop and take a minute to just soak up all the love an joy around you.
