Bride: Luwam George

Groom: Yonas Fessehaye

Location: Atlanta, GA

Wedding Date: 9/5/2015

Venue: Ashiana Banquet Hall

Number of Guests: 1,000

Culture Represented: Eritrean

Description or Theme of wedding: I would say that our wedding was very traditional. From the traditional church service to the various traditional elements throughout the weekend, Yonas and I really wanted to incorporate our culture into the wedding. As of the colors- it was coral and gold.

The most memorable part of your wedding: The most memorable part was walking into the reception and seeing all of our family members and friends with the biggest smiles on their faces. I will never forget that moment. It was beautiful to see everyone we love waiting for us with so much joy in the air.

Did you do anything unique, crazy or fun: Instead of doing the standard photo shoot with our bridal party, we did a lot of goofy poses. It brought out the different personalities and actually brought the bridal party together. It made the picture taking process a lot more fun for us.

What was the most difficult part about planning your wedding: The most difficult part of wedding planning was planning for 800+ guests. It limited some options for us in terms of planning and being creative with décor, etc.

What was the easiest part about planning your wedding: The easiest part of planning our wedding was coordinating the bridal party. My Maid of Honor, Faven Habte, was on point with EVERYTHING which made the coordination of our bridal party a breeze. I was able to focus on other parts of wedding planning. Thank you Fav! ;-)

Any words of wisdom to the couple planning their wedding: PLAN IN ADVANCE!!! No matter what people tell you, plan way in advance and it will make wedding planning much more enjoyable and less stressful down the road. Many people were surprised that I was calm and relaxed prior to the wedding; my planning in advance gave me the luxury to be stress-free before the wedding and actually hang out with my friends and family before the big day.
