Bride: Manju Mathew
Groom: Roshan Joseph
Location: New Jersey
Wedding Date: August 15, 2015
Number of Guests: ~500
Cultures Represented: American, Indian

Description or Theme of wedding: My color themes were pink, navy blue, and gold. I didn’t have a set theme, but wanted a fusion of the American and Indian cultures.
The most memorable part of your wedding: Surprising my husband when I did my Indian dance for him! Haha. =)
Did you do anything unique, crazy or fun: I had a fun morning. I was super relaxed (but still tired at the 3am wakeup call) and had fun getting ready in my tutu and drinking morning mimosas with my bridesmaids. I dressed my doggie up and shared some laughs with my girls. It was an awesome morning.
What was the most difficult part about planning your wedding: Everything! I was working full time and also in an accelerated MBA program. I was also getting little help with the planning, so everything was very last minute. I was also big about haggling all my vendors into getting a good deal, so some things weren’t even finalized until the day before.
What was the easiest part about planning your wedding: I don’t think there is anything easy when planning a wedding for ~500 people while managing a busy schedule, but having a laidback mindset really helps. I also had to help plan my brother’s wedding 3 years before, so that helped as well.
Any words of wisdom to the couple planning their wedding: This is probably the worst thing to say and far from conventional, but the reality is (at least to me), no one is going to remember the nitty gritty details of the wedding aside from you and a handful of others. I for sure can’t remember details of someone’s wedding after a month unless they did something super unique. What I do remember and what I believe is long lasting is the ambiance and atmosphere you create for your guests. Don’t stress yourself over little things. Have fun and your guests will have fun.
